Fall Like Storm Causes Wind Damage in Atlantic Canada






A clipper type system that cut across the Maritimes from the West, and grew into an intense storm once it reached the Atlantic Ocean, caused heavy rain, gusty winds, cold temps and some damage in the area on Wednesday and Thursday. POST TROPICAL CHANTAL BROUGHT HEAVY RAIN OVER THE AVALON BURIN AND
BONAVISTA PENINSULAS WITH RECORD RAINFALL AMOUNTS OVER THE AVALON.
STRONG WIND GUSTS UP TO 69 KM/H/43 mph WERE OBSERVED AT CAPE RACE AND
UNOFFICALLY 88 KM/H/55 mph AT CAPE PINE ON THE SOUTHERN AVALON.
