SPECIAL WEATHER SUMMARY MESSAGE FOR NOVA SCOTIA ISSUED BY ENVIRONMENT
CANADA AT 5:04 PM ADT WEDNESDAY 23 JULY 2008.

MANY COASTAL LOCALITIES OF NOVA SCOTIA RECEIVED HIGH
RAINFALL AMOUNTS ON MONDAY AND TUESDAY. THIS WAS DUE
TO A MAJOR RAINFALL EVENT ON MONDAY...AND TO A TROUGH OF LOW
PRESSURE INTERACTING WITH TROPICAL STORM CRISTOBAL ON TUESDAY.
THESE COMBINED TO GIVE HEAVY RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS MAINLY ALONG
THE ATLANTIC COAST OF NOVA SCOTIA.

THE PUBLIC AND MEDIA HAVE REPORTED FLOODED BASEMENTS IN THE
CAPE SABLE AREA..ROAD WASHOUTS NEAR SAMBRO..AND FLOODING NEAR
KETCH HARBOUR AND PORTUGUESE COVE.
