BY ENVIRONMENT CANADA AT 2:02 PM NST FRIDAY 9 DECEMBER 2011.

A VERY INTENSE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM TRACKED ACROSS THE MARITIMES AND 
THROUGH THE GULF OF ST. LAWRENCE DURING THE DAY THURSDAY THEN ACROSS 
SOUTHEASTERN LABRADOR THURSDAY EVENING BEFORE MOVING OFF OVER THE 
LABRADOR SEA EARLY THIS MORNING. THE SYSTEM BROUGHT SNOW AT TIMES 
HEAVY, HIGH WINDS AND BLOWING SNOW TO MOST OF LABRADOR OVERNIGHT 
THURSDAY.

AN INTENSIFYING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM THAT PASSED OVER SOUTHEAST NEW
BRUNSWICK THURSDAY MORNING BROUGHT SNOW TO MUCH OF NORTHERN NEW
BRUNSWICK AS WELL AS GUSTY WESTERLY WINDS IN ITS WAKE AS IT CROSSED 
THE GULF OF ST LAWRENCE LATER IN THE DAY. HERE ARE SOME NOTABLE 
SNOWFALL AMOUNTS AND PEAK WIND GUSTS FROM THIS STORM ON THURSDAY. 
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SNOWFALL AMOUNTS ARE UNOFFICIAL AND ARE ONLY
FOR THE SYSTEM THAT MOVED IN OVER THE EARLY MORNING HOURS OF
THURSDAY DECEMBER 8TH, AS NORTHERN NEW BRUNSWICK ALSO RECEIVED SOME
