Mid-March Winter Storm Update Eight

Snowfall warning for
Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County continued

An additional 10-15 centimetres of snow is expected by this evening.

This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system south of Nova Scotia will continue to slowly track eastward today to lie southeast of the province by this evening.

Periods of snow are in store for today over most of Nova Scotia. Snow will persist into the evening over Cape Breton providing an additional 15 centimetres by midnight tonight before tapering off to isolated flurries. Elsewhere in Nova Scotia amounts of 5 to 10 centimetres are expected today before tapering off late in the day although areas along the Atlantic coast over the eastern half of the province will see mainly rain.
