Rainfall warning for
Saint John and County continued

Up to 100 millimetres of rain is expected by Tuesday morning.

A frontal system over Nova Scotia will move slowly northward today and will lie over Northern New Brunswick tonight. Temperatures are still hovering around the freezing mark over Northwestern New Brunswick and although some areas have already changed over to rain other areas will still receive freezing rain into the early afternoon.

Some freezing rain is still possible over Northeast New Brunswick, however, the majority of the precipitation has been falling as snow and ice pellets.

Periods of rain associated with the frontal system will continue over Southern New Brunswick into Tuesday. Up to 100 millimetres of rain is forecast over Southwestern New Brunswick by Tuesday morning.

Halifax Metro and Halifax County West continued

Rainfall amounts of up to 55 millimetres are forecast for tonight and Tuesday over Southwestern Nova Scotia.

This is a warning that significant rainfall is expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system over New York this morning will track into New England later today. Rain ahead of this low will move into Southern Nova Scotia this afternoon and slowly spread across the province today reaching central regions by midnight and Cape Breton near noon Tuesday. Total rainfall amounts in excess of 50 millimetres are forecast for areas along the Atlantic coast. Elsewhere areas will receive near 30 millimetres.

Strong southeasterly winds will develop ahead of this low tonight over the Cape Breton Highlands. Les Suetes winds are expected to reach 90 km/h by overnight and continue on Tuesday.
