Rainfall warning for
Shelburne County continued

Total rainfall of 40 to 70 millimetres by Tuesday morning.

This is a warning that significant rainfall is occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system approaching the region will continue to bring significant rainfall to parts of Southwestern Nova Scotia tonight. Rain at times heavy will persist through the night then taper to showers Tuesday morning. An additional 30 to 40 millimetres of rain is expected bringing total rainfall amounts of 40 to 70 millimetres by morning. There is a risk of thundershowers this evening for Southwestern Nova Scotia.

This system will also bring strong southeast winds to the Cape Breton Highlands from Margaree Harbour to bay St. Lawrence. Les Suetes winds will gust up to 110 km/h tonight before diminishing to strong southerlies overnight.

WILL ONCE AGAIN OVERSPREAD THE AREA FROM WEST TO EAST. SURFACE
TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN BELOW FREEZING UNTIL THE FRONT ARRIVES
AND BEGINS TO MIX THE LOW LEVELS. LIGHT ICE ACCUMULATIONS UP TO A
QUARTER OF AN INCH ARE EXPECTED...BEFORE TEMPERATURES RISE ABOVE
FREEZING AND A CHANGE TO PLAIN RAIN TAKES PLACE.

WINTER STORM WARNING HAS BEEN CANCELLED.

* HAZARD TYPES...FREEZING RAIN.

* ACCUMULATIONS...A TENTH TO A QUARTER INCH OF ICE.

* TIMING...FREEZING RAIN WILL OVERSPREAD THE ADVISORY AREA IN THE
  NEXT HOUR...CONTINUING UNTIL AROUND MIDNIGHT.

* IMPACTS...SLIPPERY ROAD CONDITIONS. ICE ACCRETION MAY BECOME
  GREAT ENOUGH TO DOWN SOME TREE BRANCHES AND POWER LINES
  CAUSING POWER OUTAGES.

* TEMPERATURES...IN THE UPPER 20S TO LOWER 30S.
