...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAY HAS ISSUED A FLOOD WARNING FOR THE
FOLLOWING RIVERS IN MAINE

  CARRABASSETT RIVER AT NORTH ANSON AFFECTING SOMERSET COUNTY

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FLOODED AREAS...IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO KNOW IF THE ROAD IS
SAFE FOR TRAVEL. TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN!

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAY HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD WARNING FOR
  THE CARRABASSETT RIVER AT NORTH ANSON
* FROM THIS AFTERNOON UNTIL THURSDAY MORNING.
* AT 2 PM THE STAGE WAS...15.3 FEET.
* MINOR FLOODING IS OCCURRING AND MINOR FLOODING IS FORECAST.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 15.0 FEET.
* AN ICE JAM THAT HAS REMAINED IN PLACE FOR THE PAST MONTH IS IS
  CAUSING  THE RIVER TO FLUCTUATE RAPIDLY. THE RIVER WILL CONTINUE
  TO FLUCTUATE THIS EVENING. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TELL WHEN THE
  ICE WILL RELEASE OR HOW HIGH THE RIVER WILL RISE BEHIND THE
  JAM. WATER LEVELS ARE RISING RAPIDLY AT THE MOMENT. PEOPLE LIVING
  IN FLOOD  PRONE AREAS IN THE VICINILTY OF NORTH ANSON SHOULD REMAIN
  ALERT FOR RISING WATER.
