Rainfall warning for

Fredericton and Southern York County continued

50 to 120 millimetres of rain expected through Saturday.

This is a warning that significant rainfall is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

A weather system stretching from Eastern Canada to the mid-Atlantic seaboard of the United States will stall over the Maritimes during the weekend. Moisture of tropical origin will wrap around this feature and produce general rainfall amounts of 50 to 75 millimetres across much of the province by late Saturday. Over the Fundy region where the heaviest rain is expected amounts will range from 80 to 120 millimetres. The rain will likely persist for the rest of the weekend however lesser amounts are expected on Sunday.

A weather system over the Great Lakes will move eastward tonight and stall over the Maritimes during the weekend. Moisture of tropical origin will wrap around this feature and produce general rainfall amounts of 50 to 80 millimetres over western portions of the province and over regions adjacent to the Bay of Fundy by late Saturday. The rain will likely persist for the rest of the weekend however lesser amounts are expected on Sunday.
