Freezing rain warning for
Lunenburg County continued

Freezing rain has begun over western areas and is expected spread further northeast tonight.

This is a warning that an extended period of freezing rain is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system is forecast to develop southwest of Cape Cod tonight and track south of Nova Scotia on Saturday. Rain changing to snow and ice pellets are forecast to begin over southwestern regions of the province early this evening and will push northward tonight to affect the rest of Nova Scotia by Saturday morning. Freezing rain mixed with ice pellets has begun over western sections of the province where a freezing rain warning has been issued.

Snowfall amounts of 10-15 centimetres are expected tonight and Saturday over Northern Nova Scotia and Cape Breton associated with this system. A winter storm watch is continued for central portions of the province where snowfall amounts could possibly reach snowfall warning criteria therefore the public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required.

Fredericton and Southern York County issued

10 to 15 centimetres of snow expected tonight and Saturday.

This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system will track south of Nova Scotia tonight. Rain showers will begin late this afternoon in southwestern regions changing to snow and spreading northeastward this evening. The snow will become mixed or change to ice pellets over Grand Manan Island tonight. The snow will taper to scattered showers or flurries by noon Saturday over western regions and by early evening in the east.

At this time northwestern regions of the province are expected to get 5 to 10 centimetres of snow, but a slight deviation in the track or intensity of the system could result in greater amounts requiring snowfall warnings to be extended.
