Rainfall warning for
Halifax Metro and Halifax County West continued

Rainfall amounts of 50 millimetres or more expected.

This is a warning that significant rainfall is expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

A trough of low pressure will cross the Maritimes overnight. Rain associated with this feature has begun over Southwestern Nova Scotia and will spread eastward tonight. Rainfall amounts in excess of 50 millimetres are expected along the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia with locally higher amounts possible in heaviest showers. Western regions are expected to receive 20 to 40 millimetres of rain, with local amounts possibly exceeding 50 millimetres.

Also, Les Suetes winds will develop overnight over the Cape Breton Highlands ahead of the trough. Wind gusts up to 90 km/h are expected and will persist until noon Thursday.
