  • Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Rain, at times heavy, is expected.

An area of low pressure will deepen as it approaches the Maritimes this evening. Rain, heavy at times, over western regions will spread eastward tonight. Total rainfall amounts in excess of 100 mm are possible by dawn Thursday.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.

  • Prince County P.E.I.
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Strong easterly winds gusting up to 90 km/h will develop Wednesday evening as a deep low pressure system slowly approaches the Maritimes from the southwest.
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.

Ice build-up due to freezing rain is expected or occurring.

  • Woodstock and Carleton County
Hazardous winter conditions are expected.

A developing low pressure system will approach the area today. Snow heavy at times mixed with freezing rain will develop this evening and continue on Wednesday. Precipitation will change to rain at times heavy or freezing rain Wednesday afternoon. A total of 25 to 45 centimeters of snow, several hours of freezing rain, and near 20 millimeters of rain are expected by Wednesday evening.
Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.
